Marjorie Easton's (Farrah Fawcett) life is about to change, with shattering speed. Entering her car, alone in a quiet neighborhood shopping center, Marjorie is attacked. She manages to fight off her brutal foe (Joe, played by James Russo), but he steals her wallet, containing her I.D. and address.

She seeks refuge. The police can't help... "Call us and we'll be there." Her roommates, Terry (Diana Scarwid) and Patricia (Alfre Woodard), are sympathetic, but they must go to work. She is left home, alone; afraid and waiting.

Suddenly, he's there; on her, ready to conclude his unfinished business. But, Marjorie is a no questions-asked survivor, and Joe has aroused every survival instinct she possesses. What ensues is a brutal battle between two dramatically different individuals, each hoping to gain power over the other.

Joe discovers to his great surprise, that he is no match for Marjorie. She has ceased to see him as a human being - he has become the "animal" unworthy of any rights - and she manages to translate her anger, rage and fear into aggressive and volatile action. He's not prepared...as he becomes her victim, on whom she is determined to annihilate.
